What of Life and Death?

When death appears to be all around us, True Life can be found.

This applies to so-called literal death and to the “little deaths” (aka “changes”) that we experience in Life . . . in fact, which are the stuff of Life.  It is true that the only thing we can be certain of is Change.  And, as Neale Donald Walsch says, “All Change is Change for the Better.”  This statement is absolutely true.  Even if it weren’t, we may as well choose to see it that way, because Change is occurs whether we want it to or not.  When we resist It or fight It, we suffer.  When we accept It and even embrace It, we experience release.

Yes, we release ourselves from the inner torment of fighting what Life has chosen for us and for everyone.  We align ourselves with Soul Choices, some of which our smaller selves would never consciously choose.  We accept Life on Life’s terms, and we Trust that Someone has a broader view and knows a better way.

When we are forced to surrender, to fully accept that the situation at hand is out of OUR hands, Life has the opportunity to enter.  And, paradoxically, it seems, we know just Who to Be and What to Do.

My father has recently experienced several strokes and subsequent complications due to surgery.  His precious Life, it seems, is hanging by a thread.  While I have experienced the full range of emotions moving through me during this time, there is a Strength present that is not of me, but beyond me, yet within me nonetheless.  One might suggest I am in denial, numb or experiencing the protective after-effects of shock and trauma.  While some or all of this may be true, I will not deny the fact that there is a Calm within that seems to be holding me and guiding me every step of the way.  I Am Grateful beyond words for this.

My heart is saying to my dad’s heart, my Soul to my dad’s Soul~I want for you what you want for you.  I Love you with Big Love, and whatever is the next Highest Expression of Life for you, So Be It.

It is freeing to release the reigns, as I am not ultimately in control anyway.  How could I possibly know what is best for him or for anyone involved, including myself?

And so, I surrender this matter of Life and “death” to the One Who Does Know.  And in this surrender, I Know that It’s All Life, the Eternal Life that we speak to often, but that we do not necessarily apply to our Lives.

I Bless my dad, my  mom, my siblings, friends and relatives . . . I Bless the doctors and nurses . . . I Bless All of It, All of Us, as we move through this Change.  I intend and envision a beautiful outcome for all, though I do not pretend to know what that looks like. And then, I release It.  I Let it Go.

It is All Life.  It Is All Love.  It is All God.  It is All Good.

To Know this, to Experience this, in the midst of turmoil, is to be Found . . . yes, it is to Know True Life.

And to Know this Peace is to want it for Everyone . . . to extend the invitation to anyone who wishes to Know It for themselves.

As If I Could Know

Do I dare believe

that I could possibly know

what’s best for you?

The second I take your matters

into my hands,

I give away my power

and I take away yours

(as if I could).

I Am here.

I Love You . . .

and that is It.

That is All.

I Love You so much

that I free you

to come and go as you wish,

in small ways

and in “not so small” ways.

And I free myself, too.

Let us not hold ourselves prisoner

to someone else’s idea

of how our lives should look.

Do I know what’s best for you?

I do not.

And,

pretending I do,

is too stressful,

too much pressure.

If I Am inspired to guide you,

I shall;

if I Am called to share

my experiences with you,

I will.

But your matter of Life and death is not mine.

I free you to Live and die as you so choose . . .

and I Love You

with Big Love.

Let’s walk together,

side by side,

for Life . . .

that is,

for as long as Life compels us to do so,

for as long as there is still Life in our walk.

Yes,

only Death shall part us,

and I am no match for Her—

at least not of myself alone.

So,

I will not fight Her when she arrives;

I will not argue with Life or Death—

yours,

mine

or anyone else’s.

Doing so causes suffering,

and I choose Freedom.

Life is Love;

death is Love.

It

is all

Love.

As if I could know better than

She does . . .

I will not even begin to try.

Amy Adams is a poet/writer who wishes to serve Humanity and the Cosmos by authentically expressing what it has come to mean to her to be Divinely Human.  Her initial inspiration came from what she calls a “tried and true ‘Dark Night of the Soul’ experience.”  Insights, poems and writings continue to pour through her to this day, and she will write as long as writing is what’s in front of her.  In addition to writing, she enjoys dancing, singing, walking, reading, nature, conversations, playing . . .

Joy has become her guide, and it is her intention to allow Joy to Be contagious, sharing It with everyone she meets through her unique gifts and, ultimately, her Life lived.

“Humaira” is a name that was gifted to her at the time the writings began.  Amy has come to know Humaira as a very clear and wise aspect of her Being, one who is not censored, but who lives naturally, simply and from a place of Aliveness.  When Amy aligns with the “Humaira energy,” a co-creative synergy seems to occur, and it is magical, beyond even the words.

I’ll Be Honest With You . . .

Really?

Will I?  Will You?

We could change the world one conversation at a time, if we would simply and lovingly begin to share our truth.

This can feel like an enormous challenge for people-pleasers/approval-suckers and ragers/intimidators alike.  Why?  Because we have to release our fear and allow ourselves to be vulnerable.  We have to accept the fact that the other person may reject us and stand firm in the knowing that Who We Are can never be rejected.  Too, we have to give up manipulation.  We can’t “get our way,” either by going along with everything someone says so that they’ll accept us OR by attempting to scare somebody into agreeing with us.

It’s time to  build our houses on Rock.  To do so, we must align ourselves with our personal Truth and Live genuinely, authentically and with integrity from there.  We must stop smiling on the outside even as we resent on the inside.  Let’s give up the facade of “keeping the peace” and step into “Being the Peace.”

This happens one word, one conversation at a time.  Just as a person addicted to alcohol must think only in terms of the next drink, so it is with these addictions.  With each Soul Choice, we become more empowered, and our small moments lived become our Life Lived.

This is how we contribute to Change.  Not by focusing on everyone out there and how the world would be a much better place if “they” would change.

Let’s take an honest look at where we are lying to ourselves and to each other, even in what seem like small things such as, “No, I’m not feeling angry” (when really you are).

“The Truth Shall Set Us Free” in a big way, YES.

And yet, our day-to-day words, choices and interactions are what make up the Whole Picture.

It is refreshing to get honest with ourselves and share our Truth in a Loving, Gentle manner.

And, it’s like riding a bicycle . . . the more we do it, the easier it becomes . . . until, one day, it is just the natural way of things, in our individual lives and in the Life of the Collective.

Mmmmmm . . . riding along on that upright beach bike with goodies in the basket, a gentle breeze upon my face and a peaceful Heart . . . all because I found the courage to Be and Share Who I Am.

Life is Good . . .

Be Heard

Truth.

Speak it.

And be Heard.

You know,

sometimes you whisper,

because you feel like you don’t

have much to say . . .

or because

you are afraid of being

rejected,

dismissed.

Don’t let this stop you;

don’t quiet your voice

so as not to offend.

Know what wishes to be said

and

Say It.

Speak It.

Dance It.

Sing It.

Paint It.

One way or another,

allow It to come through,

or

live a life of

agonizing silence.

Not Sacred Silence,

but enforced silence—

be it by you or by another.

Releasing what wants to be shared

puts you in the Flow of Life.

You ride along smoothly and effortlessly

amidst the outer chaos.

You claim your rightful and perfect place

in the Grand Scheme of things,

allowing others to do the same.

Truth.

Speak it.

And Be Heard.

And all will right Itself.

All . . .

will be well.

For Everything There is A Season . . .

A time to Go Within . . . a time to Reach Out

A time to Be Silent . . . a time to Speak

A time for Solitude . . . a time for Companionship

A time to Laugh . . . a time to Cry

A time to Live . . . a time to Die

And All of It . . . ALL OF IT . . . Life.

Yes, and Something within each of us knows the perfect time and place for Everything.  When we align ourselves with that Something, we go with the natural flow of Life.  And we can feel it when we’re a little (or a lot) “off.”  It’s All Good anyway, because Life simply gives us continual opportunities to start anew, begin fresh.

It’s not like Life ever looks at us and says, “Oh no, you’ve really done it this time . . . that was your last chance . . . no more for you!”  Even if we are on our so-called death bed, feeling enormous regret for “what could have been” . . . yes, even then, Life is “on our side.”  Still, that does not mean we take this Truth and use it as an excuse not to Live.  No.  We hurt ourselves when we do that (and, on some level, we know it).  Who else do you think it might be who is whispering to you, nudging you, calling your name?  It is your Self.

Life wants to Live us as much as we say we want to live our lives!  It is stirring within you, bursting to be shared, as YOU.  Everyone else can only benefit from hearing your unique Song, seeing your one-of-a-kind Dance, feeling your special Touch.

A time for Play . . . a time for Rest

A time for Sleeping . . . a time for Waking Up

A time for Forgetting . . . a time for Remembering

What time is it for YOU, Right Now?  Go Within, and you will Know.  You already do.  It’s just a matter of getting out of your own way, so that what is attempting to reveal Itself to you can do so.

And Going Within may Cause you to stay there for a while OR it may Cause you to Reach Out.

Look closely . . . what appear to be polar opposites sort of invite each other, don’t they?  There is only staleness and stagnation in staying too long in one place or the other.

A time to Write . . . and a time to Put Down the Pen . . .

All of It . . . Life.

What if Death Were Beautiful?

What if death were Beautiful?

Call it so, and it will be.

Let me tell you why:

This thing we call death is not what we think it is;

it is Life continually changing form,

and that, My Friend,

is gorgeous beyond words.

I don’t even recognize the caterpillar I once was,

and now, I fly on Wings of Love.

Thank Heaven for this thing we call death.

For without it, I could not wave my wings . . .

a sure sign, they are, that I am transformed.

Death is not ugly;

it is not to be avoided;

it is never too soon or unfair.

It is none of these things;

it is part of the endless cycle of Eternal Life—

A Rite of Passage as wondrous as any other,

whatever form it takes.

How sad that we dishonor It

by saying It shouldn’t be so.

We die to ourselves every moment,

thank God and Goodness,

lest we could not become

who we are—

Joy,

expressing Itself,

as us,

Now.

And so,

we Bless this journey through time

with Gratitude

for death,

which is Life.

And when a cycle comes to an end,

let us call it Beautiful . . .

let us call it Grand . . .

let us call it Love.

Are We Dying or Being Born?

Is it just me?  I know the answer to that question . . . absolutely not!!!  But I still wish to express that . . . sometimes, I don’t know if I’m coming or going anymore.

Death and Birth REALLY ARE two sides of the same coin.  Right now, at this moment in time, we are literally between two worlds.  We are in the birth canal or on our death bed.  Either way, dying to one world and being born into another.  This is happening symbolically and literally, and I’m not sure how much, if any, difference there is between the two anymore.  Yes,  individually and collectively, like it or not, it is happening.

In some ways, it seems as if we are simply along for the ride.  In others, it’s as if we are co-creators in the process.  I have experienced both to be true, even though these two ways of looking at it seem to contradict one another.

Oh, the Divine Paradox!!!

Yes, there is a Realm where all of this “makes sense.”  From a broader perspective, there is no confusion or seeming contradiction, I suppose.

Still, in our daily lives, some of this can prove to be a challenge, to say the least.

It is both exciting and scary at the same time . . . like a rollercoaster ride!!!  Thank goodness, I do love rollercoasters!  It’s those rides that spin around and around in circles that make me sick!  Ha!  Well, there you go . . . what a metaphor for Life.

We are finished going around and around in circles, through with half-hearted surrender.  Yes, DONE with insanity.

I’ve read that there’s a fine line between a mystic and a madman.  Add a madwoman OR, better yet, madwomEn, and look out world!

We are in for It!

In a good way, of course.

And again, It’s All Good/God from where SHE resides.

So, what to do but go with It, accept It, Love It . . . Co-Create with It even???

True, there are those days when all I want to do is crawl back under the covers and stay there.  Yes, before I get nice and cozy in that bed, I am certain I’ll let everyone else on the front lines know, “Wake me when it’s over!”

Other days, I wouldn’t miss It for the world!  Literally, “for the world.”

Because I know that my staying small, my hiding under the covers, my cowering in fear . . . does not serve me or anyone else.  It happens, though, more often than I would like to admit.  I get that it’s really only “hurting” me when I resist and put up a fight . . . still, it happens.

I Am learning to embrace my Divinity and my Humanity . . . coming to Love what it means to be Divinely Human and Humanly Divine.  And I’m in good company.  “Even” Jesus questioned whether or not it was all too much.  And I shall do as much as Him and more (he said it, not me:-)).  I know what he meant now, though, because I can “feel” what he meant in the depths of my Being.  And I humbly Claim It for my sake and for the sake of The All).

I Didn’t Want to Die

I didn’t want to die, but it happened.

I may as well enjoy it.

En-Joy . . . that is

place the Joy back into Death where it belongs.

So-called Death, be it of the body or of the false self

is cause for celebration and nothing less.

For it is in dying that we are Reborn.

Death, in that sense, is Life-Giving, not Life-Taking.

Now that I am in Heaven, Hell seems like a far-off place,

a figment of my imagination.

When we remove the veils, we see clearly

that the Truth of Who We Are cannot die.

When we remove the veils, The Truth of Who We Are shines for everyone to see.

We die so that All may be born to Eternal Life.

I didn’t want to die, but it happened,

and I’m glad it did.

For, now I am Free . . .

free from hurt of any kind,

free to Be,

free to Serve,

free to Love.

And in this Freedom lies the Freedom of All

who Dare to Die.

I Didn’t Want to Die, but it happened,

Aad now, finally,

I live . . .

Forevermore.
