A time to Go Within . . . a time to Reach Out
A time to Be Silent . . . a time to Speak
A time for Solitude . . . a time for Companionship
A time to Laugh . . . a time to Cry
A time to Live . . . a time to Die
And All of It . . . ALL OF IT . . . Life.
Yes, and Something within each of us knows the perfect time and place for Everything. When we align ourselves with that Something, we go with the natural flow of Life. And we can feel it when we’re a little (or a lot) “off.” It’s All Good anyway, because Life simply gives us continual opportunities to start anew, begin fresh.
It’s not like Life ever looks at us and says, “Oh no, you’ve really done it this time . . . that was your last chance . . . no more for you!” Even if we are on our so-called death bed, feeling enormous regret for “what could have been” . . . yes, even then, Life is “on our side.” Still, that does not mean we take this Truth and use it as an excuse not to Live. No. We hurt ourselves when we do that (and, on some level, we know it). Who else do you think it might be who is whispering to you, nudging you, calling your name? It is your Self.
Life wants to Live us as much as we say we want to live our lives! It is stirring within you, bursting to be shared, as YOU. Everyone else can only benefit from hearing your unique Song, seeing your one-of-a-kind Dance, feeling your special Touch.
A time for Play . . . a time for Rest
A time for Sleeping . . . a time for Waking Up
A time for Forgetting . . . a time for Remembering
What time is it for YOU, Right Now? Go Within, and you will Know. You already do. It’s just a matter of getting out of your own way, so that what is attempting to reveal Itself to you can do so.
And Going Within may Cause you to stay there for a while OR it may Cause you to Reach Out.
Look closely . . . what appear to be polar opposites sort of invite each other, don’t they? There is only staleness and stagnation in staying too long in one place or the other.
A time to Write . . . and a time to Put Down the Pen . . .
All of It . . . Life.
What if Death Were Beautiful?
What if death were Beautiful?
Call it so, and it will be.
Let me tell you why:
This thing we call death is not what we think it is;
it is Life continually changing form,
and that, My Friend,
is gorgeous beyond words.
I don’t even recognize the caterpillar I once was,
and now, I fly on Wings of Love.
Thank Heaven for this thing we call death.
For without it, I could not wave my wings . . .
a sure sign, they are, that I am transformed.
Death is not ugly;
it is not to be avoided;
it is never too soon or unfair.
It is none of these things;
it is part of the endless cycle of Eternal Life—
A Rite of Passage as wondrous as any other,
whatever form it takes.
How sad that we dishonor It
by saying It shouldn’t be so.
We die to ourselves every moment,
thank God and Goodness,
lest we could not become
who we are—
we Bless this journey through time
which is Life.
And when a cycle comes to an end,
let us call it Beautiful . . .
let us call it Grand . . .
let us call it Love.
Amy Adams is a poet/writer who wishes to serve Humanity and the Cosmos by authentically expressing what it has come to mean to her to be Divinely Human. Her initial inspiration came from what she calls a “tried and true ‘Dark Night of the Soul’ experience.” Insights, poems and writings continue to pour through her to this day, and she will write as long as writing is what’s in front of her. In addition to writing, she enjoys dancing, singing, walking, reading, nature, conversations, playing . . .
Joy has become her guide, and it is her intention to allow Joy to Be contagious, sharing It with everyone she meets through her unique gifts and, ultimately, her Life lived.
“Humaira” is a name that was gifted to her at the time the writings began. Amy has come to know Humaira as a very clear and wise aspect of her Being, one who is not censored, but who lives naturally, simply and from a place of Aliveness. When Amy aligns with the “Humaira energy,” a co-creative synergy seems to occur, and it is magical, beyond even the words.
Look for Amy’s first book, coming in August 2012:
“Book of Love: Poems to Light Your Way Home”
